I’ve acquired an older projector, but it doesn’t have a HD socket, so I’m using a VGA to HD cable, but I’m not getting any kind of image, so will I ever ? Or if its possible, what settings would I need to adjust,is
    Pal or nstc
    24p 1080 720?
Iv tried a few output adjustments, but have to keep swapping feeds to TV/projector, which is a pain,
    Any ideas?

By HD do you mean HDMI or something else?

Do you know whether the ‘cable’ works? And, is it supposed to work that way round, or is it actually a VGA > HDMI converter? I’d expect an optical drive to demand a HDCP (copy protection) handshake, and I’d expect to have to pay a fair wedge for a reliable HDMI > VGA converter.

I think I’d be looking at something like an S-video connection instead.

You can probably send a VGA source to an HD input but not the other way round.

Start at 640 by 480 and go up until it stops is a good way to find max resolution on older projectors!
