In true contrary STW fashion I just wanted to say I’d had some pretty good LBS service recently. Took my FS in for a bearing swap (I supplied the bearings, their prices are eye watering for ordered in little bits like that). Raised eyebrows that it’d take two weeks but no worries, I’ve got other bikes to ride anyway.

Last week I called to ask if it was ready and the bloke told me that they weren’t able to use all the parts I gave them. Slight concern. I arrive to get it and he said they checked all the bearings and only two needed replacing so they gave me the knackered pair from the top of the linkage in a bag and my other unused ones back. Instead of the predicted hour of workshop time, they charged me for half an hour.

All this in the local version of Halfords too. Quite pleased really.
