  • Pretty Carbon Road frames?

Having got the Summer road bike out of the store (Litespeed Tuscany) I’m mulling over the idea of swapping the frame for something newer, and possibly plastic.

I love the swoopy / aero aesthetic of modern frames but really don’t like either the “stealth” look (boring!) or the “pro” look (logos in your face!).

So what modern Carbon frames are out there which have more of a sense of style about them?

Obviously I could get a plain frame and get it painted but not having any creativity myself that would end in something horrific…

Scott Addict? That’s about as stealth as you can get!

Not what i’d call pretty, sorry

I think this is more what I mean – some consideration paid to the paint and graphics

Very subjective, but Dogma? Cervelo R3? Trek Madone – the ones without brakes on the seat stays look very ‘tidy’ IMO?

Edit: based on what you’ve posted – Baum, English Cycles?

    What’s the budget?

Used to be able to get a 7-series Project One frame, but looks like that’s been dropped. Was silly money anyway.

    So no.

Look 566? Various paint jobs out there, some look really good. I’ve got on in clearcoat, which won’t be for you but I love it. Rides like a dream too, which is nice.

You may find one like mine with less than 400 miles on it!

It’s not carbon, but based on the pic you posted I would say this is the best looking frame out there

Edit: still not carbon by the way, but nicer than the Genesis IMO!

I do love those Baum frames – very nice indeed.

The Guerciotti frames at Planet X look quite nice in a Euro way, nice colours.

Meh, we’re still on the Friday afternoon budget 😉

And to that end, I’ll chuck Parlee into the mix too!

This is more Friday afternoon, Calfee – custom paint – lord knows how much it would cost!

Look of the Colnagos may fit the bill. About a grand for the frame too…

agree that Baum looks terrific but theyre using a pic of a custom paint job specified by a client (Gulf racing).

Dogma possibly the most hideous modern frame around, all lumpy gimmicks. I like the skinnier minimalist tubing of Cervelos. I also think white is classy, so want one of these

or 2, one to ride 1 to hang on wall…

Not sure there’s enough logo on that guerciotti 🙄

I’ve got a Cervelo R5ca in stealth black, but you can get them in normal black too 😆

The Guerciotti only has one more logo than that Cervelo.
Cervelo bikes are very common, I think I still prefer that Sarto, I might order a frame tomorrow.

I a big dale fan, so this for me hits the spot. Other than a Dale, a Parlee.

Straying off topic slightly, but one of these gets ridden into the office every so often. Don’t know whose it is, but it makes me smile every time I see it.

….and each one is pretty much the full length of the tube its on.
