It all depends upon the strength of your prescription – 0 to say +-3 get what you want, +-3 to 5 a bit restricted, high base lenses may require some specialist lens manufacture, +-5 to 7 more restricted, -11 like me then small lens low base inserts like Rudy Project Maya. The advantage of those is that they’re also designed to be worn without the front lens but you don’t like inserts so that’s out, you’ll be very hard pushed to find cycling prescription frames to suit those – believe me I’ve looked.
But – in the end its up to you, what your prescription is, and how much you want to spend.
