  • Preparing bike for helicopter tape
  • Hello

Bike is in good nick but some chips and scratched. Especially in the swing arm corners. Can anyone help with some tips?
I want to touch up the paintwork and stop the 2 worst chips getting bigger and then apply the tape

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I cleaned the areas with IPA cleaner, went on really easily. Some people suggest heating the tape with hair dryer to make it more flexible.

Hair dryer also softens the glue and appears to make it easier to work the bubbles out the edges.

Cheers guys. How about the frame prep? I’d like to deal with the nicks before I permanently entomb them on my bike

give the frame a good clean, but avoid using anything that will leave a residue.

maybe use some touch up paint if you have some.

wet the heli tape with water that has a drop of fairy liquid on it. Piece of piss to get it fitted perfectly, just get it in place then squeegy the water out.
