have had to rip down living room roof that had laughing plaster on it,replacing it with plasterboard.i know all about taping the feathered edges along the length of the p/b but what do i do along the width between the boards which is square edge? do i leave a gap so tape can be applied easier or do the boards get butted up tight?

im not intending on taping it myself but just thought id ask the question before phoning a decorator

    I butted the boards together.
    Use the same joining tape.
Then blend the plaster in after.

Are you skimming the whole ceiling or just the joints ?
If just joints then the proper jointing compound works really wel.
