… of which you would never have thought?

My wife bought tape dispensers, both desktop ones and handheld cardboard box ones. I considered them office equipment and never would have thought to buy one, but they are terribly useful.

Am I allowed to say: my son?

He is a practical psychological boost, plus he always allows me to finish my coffee before I have to do anything for/with him…

Practicality itself. He is far more useful around the house than I.

Keep them in the kitchen and use them to re-seal stuff. I might have a slight obsession with this. My OH, who bought them for me, constantly takes the piss out of me for doing so. It’s the gift that keeps on giving.

The realisation that I am never, ever, ever right.

The realisation that although I am always right this is not the ultimate goal in life. I have however no idea what the ultimate goal actually is.

A ceiling fan in the bedroom. I’d always been a bit snooty about them, but when it’s horribly hot and humid and you can’t sleep, they are the single best thing in the world.
