I have been given the option of a free power plate machine but have never used one before. Are they any good for building some leg strength for cycling or is it just vibrating snake oil?

    Vibrating snake oil,

It’s fun to watch girls play on them

I thought they were rubbish for doing a workout but I found them quite nice to use at the gym AFTER a workout. Shakes the muscles up nice.

I always have bit more zip in my legs after I’ve been on one.
Not lost any weight but I’m on my smallest belt hole.

Not bothered about any cardio or weight loss value, just interested in any potential for strength or endurance gains as my cycling is few and far between these days.

Sadly after major knee surgery a few years ago running is no longer an option for me. Everything now has to be low impact hence the power plate.
