I seem to remember that people have recommended Fastline in Preston previously.

Any others to add to the list?

Also, what should it cost for a hardtail frame and suspension forks to be coated?

Fastline is usually about £60 for frame – fork will be extra. This is the top end on price. Understand bikes and generally careful.

Some of the industrial places are cheaper – maybe £30-40 for the frame. Superior at Leyland have done 2 good and 2 bad jobs for me….

Wheel repair centre at Bamber Bridge do aluminium frames for a local shop and also sus forks.

Garrick is similar prices to Fastline.

Plenty more in yellow pages!

Do I need to strip the forks and just give them the legs or can they powdercoat fully assembled?

It was £90 at Fastline for my frame last year. Superb job.
I would have thought you’d need to strip the forks seeing as they dip them and blast them before the coating. Assuming it’s the same process as a frame.

They’ll need fully stripped. They’ll be going in an oven, the seals and oil aren’t going to like that.

I’m not sure if this bushes will have to check out too..

Oh yes, didn’t think about the baking bit!

Might have a go at a rattle-can fork respray first.
