    I have currently got some shimano hone brakes which are post mount and post mount forks. going to change the forks to mazocchi z1 sports which are is mount. I have got an adaptor on the back for an is mount on the frame to a post mount on the brake.
    would one of these work on the front?

    or do they not work both ways. ie post to is is different to is to post. sorry if this is confusing but I think im confusing myself!!

    No. Post to is is not the same as is to post.

    Edit. The above is true but the eBay adaptor will work for what you want. Thought you were asking of your rear adaptor would work on the front.
