Made by a colleague of mine. He made the frame and the rather interesting hub. 3 speed crank driven direct drive. No chain, no cassette so great in this plop weather. Pedals like a ski machine so more up down rather than round and round. I guess like an oval Chainring. Climbing is awesome. Also absolutely no chain noise.

Put about 250 miles on it round Swinley over the last few weeks and I am quite amazed at how good it is. Having no BB to hit things with is nice so bunny hopping logs is easy.

Hub is custom designed and home built. Works bit like but also nothing like a nexus hub.

He has also built a single speed folding bike which is awesome. Folds completely flat and has a single down tube!

I don’t have any to hand ton but will take some tomorrow….. I have not seen anything like it before (and the very fact that the design has 3 patents granted demonstrates it’s pretty novel).

If anyone rides Swinley and wants to have a go you’re welcome to.

No photos but 20mm in the dark just before dinner as the hurricane abated a bit. First time using those cheap eBay searcchlighfs/firelighters. They’re pretty good for £15. Still got a bollocking for being later though 🙂

25 Minutes ride from my apartment, that white smudge on the right hand side is Hong Kong airport.

As in Kings Cougs Coughton or cofton Hackett? If the former, not really, if the latter about 5 miles away

Very muddy morning in Wendover. Good fun though and saw a lot of other MTBers out and about.

Ah I saw the pic and and a similar scene came to mind up a track somewhere between Kings Coughton and Coughton…. Thinking about it the road surface in your pic seams too good… I.D fail.
