So the drive side of my gxp BB has failed again. I’m fitting a Hope using their gxp convertor jobbies. They are only needed on the drive side, so my question is – can you mix and match? i.e. leave the non drivr gxp and just replace the reduced drive side. Guessing the centre tube won’t fit?

Who’s going to sell you half of a Hope bottom bracket?

If you have a ready supply of part worn BBs you can go that route. I’d bin off the old unit and replace the whole thing.

Hope’s GXP adaptors fit to the non-drive side, so wouldn’t be needed in your case, and other than the possibility of the centre sleeve not fitting(and it’s possible that it may, i’ll check one from stock later), I can’t see any reason why you can’t do it.Being Hope, you can buy all the parts seperately, if your LBS don’t want to sell you one, give us a call at Sunset 02920371321.

coatsey – yes, got my sides confused. I’ve got BB and adaptors and other bikes running std BBs. Rare that both sides of a BB go, so could have a half spare. Thanks though.
