I bought something ant it may be going south.

I can’t fin dthe auction page via my purchase history, and while there is a link to it in my messages, that draws a blank, there appears to be an item no. in the URL but searching on that gives nothing.

Give ebay a ring, they’re usually pretty helpful when you speak to someone and explain the situation. The online automated help thinger is shitty shit shit though.

edit- you can’t (usually) delete a ‘sold’ listing, unless ebay themselves have removed it for some reason 😕

eBay customer service is actually really good in my experience. Gotta phone them though

was it a real ebay url?

Given I messaged the seller through eBay, I’d hope so.

But did you ‘buy’ through Ebay or outside arrangement?

Bought through ebay but yes cash on collection which might explain it.

Did you actually click the buy button on eBay? If so, unless they then cancelled it (which you would of been notified about) then it should still be there.

Did you BIN or win an auction? If yes it should still be there.

Have you searched through ebay advanced search, completed listings?

My BIL collected it, I’ve only just received it.

Oddly I can see it on my ebay phone app through his message, so all OK

Apologies, I thought this meant you could see the sale

Oddly I can see it on my ebay phone app through his message, so all OK

I’m still going with fake sale page, I want to know step by step what you did.
    eg was it:
Cyincal “yes please I’ll buy it”
Seller ” oooh let me send you a link to the buy it now page as I will have to end the auction!”
Seller then sends you a link through messages?

It is possible as I was watching a speaker last week. It ended up Saturday and I forgot to bid so I went to see what the final price was, and the page no longer exists.

My hunch is the seller wasn’t happy with the price and deleted it before the auction ended, but I’ve no idea how they managed to make it disappear so completely.

I won the auction on a bid. ebay url.

I msg’d him to arrange through ebay. No links in msgs (don’t they block them anyway?)

Ok, all good then. I only mention it as I got rinsed this way last year. 😳
Through a link in a message. The message was not through ebay messages, but spoofed to look like it was. It came up in my email, with a link. Which I followed, and bought.
The message was not in ebay messages when I logged in later. What I or ebay could not account for was how the scammer got my email as there is nothing linking it to my ebay account or paypal.
Anyway paypal had already put a hold on the bad guys account and I got my dosh back after a month.
