    Carry a towel, use it to brace your chest when you might sneeze, laugh, jolt, cough etc.

    Avoid laughter. It’ll hurt like buggery.

    Remember to breath deeply in and out every so often to exhale properly and to ensure you don’t end up with a lung infection.

    6 weeks you’ll be right.

    I found compression vests helped with comfort/pain.

    Can’t fault these Planet X for £8 each

    Good advice in general, after all a towel is just about the most massively useful thing one can carry.

    Seen a few recommendations for Ibuprofen – whats the current thinking on NSAIDs and bone healing? Seem to think you weren’t supposed to take them for the first week or so after a fracture?

    There’s no conclusive evidence but there is a caution for those who may be more vulnerable to poor healing such as the elderly.
