I have a little 850w portable generator. I use it to power drills, dremels, lights etc for work when I am out of range of 240v.
When using powertools with it, does the generator need grounding by a spike in the ground? The problem with that is often it will be sat on a marina pontoon with nothing to stick the spike into.
Google it and you get about five million results which are all a bit vague.

I never bothered with mine [ nor knew anyone who did] when I lived on a boat and plenty run them onboard without grounding it . A good RCD is what you want tbh.
