Habe a set of Saint Cranks, most of the anodising is gone off them, wouldn’t mind finishing the job and just making them silver.

As an added bonus, I’m thinking I can us this as a reason to buy a new power tool – a Dremel or something. Can anyone recommend a cheapish Dremel or equivalent which comes as a set with the attachments I’d need?

You’ll do well to get that good a finish with a dremel.

I wouldn’t bother unless you had access to a proper polishing machine/wheel and polishing compounds suitable for aluminium, or ‘duralumin’.

If they are scuffed you’d be better off ‘brushing’ them with some scotchbrite.

Yeah, not really aiming for a chromed finish like the above, just a uniform silver of some type.

Autosol polish from Halfords, a rag and some elbow grease..

Best to test on an area first. 😉

Did that at metalwork at school with a bmx crank
It was my favourite part going on the buffing wheels

This will take off any paint or lacquer and give a brushed finish to the aluminium.
