Well what do you all think? Have to confess that I rather think it’ll not be to so many folk’s taste on here, but I’m rather proud of it.

This bike is good bike because it is like my bike.

    stem length seems excessive?? 😉

    Those mudguards are horrific

Edit: What size are you and what size is the bike?

    He’s 6’2″ obviously….

Mudguards are horrific? Maybe, but they stop me getting a wet arse etc.

    As for size…it’s a 20.5. I’m 6″2 with a 36″ inside leg.

Stem length…I kept thinking it was a bit long, but I took the bike out today for the first time and in all honesty it just feels right and balanced.

Any way lose the mudguards, lose the spoke protector, get your front hose corrected to right length, ditch the gears and get it muddy and scratched up a bit and you’ll be fine… 😉

well the important thing is if it fits and feels right then it must be…..

    keep riding
    😆

I’ve already got a bike like that 69er…it’s my singlespeed. Although that has mudguards on it at the moment too!

mudgueards are the sign of people who have sense and ride a lot.

Why have a wet arse and a mud spattered face when its not necessary?

Don’t I get a sticker or merit or something for getting your height correct? That bike is too clean…

‘mudgueards’ are for sad wannabe roadies who are scared of getting a bit grubby. Ponce! 😉

    The Horror! (shudder).

You’ll need to be in lycra when you’re out on that…

Just aesthetically wrong of course. In every other way perfect!

I am aware that mudguards stop you getting wet. I am also aware that they look horrific on a mountain bike 🙂

    TandemJeremy

so you would prefer to think you look cool ( no mtber does) and have a wet arse and a mud pattered face?

You obviously don’t do many winter miles

    baldSpot

It looks horrific and would rather get a little bit wetter that have jolly looking bits of plastic fastened to my bike.

    baldSpot

Oh and during the winter I ski.

    Kevevs

yeah, cos wearing a bulbous plastic/polystyrene mushroomy thing on your head makes you look really cool! you do wear one don’t you? cycling makes you look like a spod!

What are you babbling on about?

    Kevevs

aesthetics. MTBers just don’t look cool, so no point going on about this or that looks crap or wrong. you look like a dork anyway, despite the bike!

    +1

    I am sensible!

Its not just your own comfort/appearance you have to consider. Most important is that the bike has to look good, and mudguards have a tendency to spoil the aesthetic composition. 🙂

I’m taking my “ordinary man in the street” view, as the op asked for Social approval 😉 (this is all tongue in cheek btw)

Hasn’t this argument been a million times before?
They keep you less wet but look crap on a MTB.
Some people think having them makes you a winter riding god or something.
I think they look naff 🙂

By all means ride with them on, but take them off for the photos.

That’s not very nice, TJ. Bit rude in fact. 🙁

Why can’t you be nice to people, like I am? Then people might like you more.

Fair comment. He was asking for it tho?

Oh that’s marvellous, isn’t it? What, so if a bakery worker is insulted by some glaziers, they’re also ‘asking for it’, are they?

    You disgust me.

It’s not about the bike though, is it Kev? It’s about TJ’s shockingly rude attitude.

Quite frankly I think he needs to go and have a think about behaviour. 🙁

It’s a nice bike. As for the size, it’s tough getting stuff to look right when your big.
