Met office forecast paints a considerably different (drier) picture

I gave up on MetCheck years ago, Met Office tends to be far more accurate IMO!

Mayhem just wouldn’t feel right without mud tyres on the bike 🙂

BBC says mostly dry all week with light rain on Sunday?

I don’t trust any of the websites these days. Best bet is to look outside on Friday…..

Even if it does rain, it should be ok as the ground is dry, unlike last year when it was already saturated after weeks of bad rain.

The problem could be the wind as it’s looking around 14/15 mph at the moment.

Is it wrong that that third picture causes me a bit of stirring – mud, bike, girl…..helloooooo

Where and when was that Will? I initially thought the wheels were sunk down in to the point where the chainset was on the ground. Still impressive though.

I haven’t seen mud like that in at least 7 years. Last Sunday it rained though, and we had puddles, and some light surface mud which actually increased grip compared to normal, so that might be winter done for another year. My new bike got muddy for the first time ever and I wondered I should have put wet lube on rather than dry wax.

That was Mayhem last year, it was utterly abhorrant!

I’m sure it’ll be fine 🙂 Funnily enough after last year, I decided that MM could do without me in 2013 😉

Lol, only one bike race it could be really 😉

The simple solution is to move it to the same weekend as Bristol Bikefest. Paul the organiser has clearly sold his soul to the devil in return for good weather every single year (I wasn’t there this year, but I thanked Paul for the perfect conditions for my 300km audax).

First MM I’m missing for years so the weather is bound to be spot on.

Muddy Mayhem more like, is it the Glastonbury of enduros despite supposedly being summer? Thankfully my one and only participation was dry.

As others have correctly identified it was indeed Mayhem last year.

    Grim doesn’t even cover it.

HF – from the swearing I remember, I’d have to go male!

Anyway there was some racing as can be seen here:

One of our team after his last lap. He just chucked himself and the bike into the lake!

But like I say, this year I’m sure will be a huge improvement 🙂

The OPs original link has actually improved a bit, Saturday looks ok. Even the BBC just say “Light Rain Shower” for Saturday and Sunday.

Just hope it doesn’t get as water logged from the weeks rain, like the last venue did.
