I’m not a big telly watcher to be honest but i work away a lot so i upgraded recently with virgin to a new V+ box so i could record the few programs i do like whilst away.

Bloody hell, how amazing do some nature programs look in HD. Planet Earth is one example but the best was a program last week about tigers in Bhutan. It looked so real…. for once i feel i get value for money. 😀

    That is all…

The best display of HD so far was the coverage of The Masters earlier in the year. The colours and the detail were wonderful.

It seems to have been specially filmed to show off HD. All those long slow pans across scenery.. and the shots are filled with scintillating detail 🙂

Buy the boxset on HD-DVD or Bluray, native 1080p instead of the broadcast compressed 720p or below.

My Sony HDTV says 1080 on the BBC HD stuff?

I’m pretty sure Sky broadcasts in 720. Your TV is probably upscaling it.

Can I recommend Rush HD? Well worth a look.

Mine is definitely 1080p (HD-DVD) so I presume you must have the Blu-ray edition.

Yes, Rush HD is very good.

Some of the output does vary in quality though.

I have found some of the skiing footage to be the best IMO.

Not only is it in HD, its also in 5.1 surround sound! The bits in the jungle were amazing.
