Bit of a different one for the hive mind. I’m heading up to Yorkshire from near Leicester and the missus wants to stop at a little pub or similar (no I don’t know what’s wrong with KFC either!).

TL;DR anyone got any recommendations for pubs to get lunch from near the M1?

Not exactly what you’re after (it’s not a pub!), but I really like the restaurant at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. It is very close to the M1 though

Yorkshire’s a big place. You don’t need to stop for your lunch if you’re heading to Bawtry but it would be a good idea if heading for Whitby or Sedbergh. Where are you heading for?

Heading up to Bridlington, I completely forgot about saying where I was going!

I’d second woody – the restaurant at the Sculpture Park is dead nice. Huge choice and you can even break the journey up with a bit of a wander – lovely up there…

Otherwise plenty of good places to eat just off the A64 near York. Been here a few years back and it was top notch – http://www.yeoldsuninn.co.uk/

Sun Inn in Colton isn’t bad (next village to us)
Chequers at Ledsham is good too (off the A1 but that’s the better route)

The restaurant at the sculpture was a big hit, thanks for the recommendation!
