My lbs saves the tubes. A women comes round for them every now and then. She makes bags and wallets out of them.

Counted seven patches on one of mine the other day. I only chuck them when I get a puncture right next to another patch because the patches don’t stick too well one over another, or when the rubber splits around the valve, then it’s borked.

    What’s an inner tube? 😉

Actually, more seriously, I set myself a limit of 2-3 patches, after which I dump the tube – well, hang it up in the garage anyway. Inner tubes are useful for loads of things so it’s worth having a stock.

2-3, 7? Pah amateurs! I think I’ve got perhaps a dozen on some of mine.

take the core out if it’s presta and removeable to re-use on a tubeless set up
