I’ve put the damper back together, followed the instructions all circlips seem to be in correct. Problem is when putting the compression mode adjuster knob back on- the LS adjuster is in off (anti clockwise) position, I put the knob on, turn it clockwise so it indents then press down and screw on the nut. When moving the knob to closed it seems to spin on the indents without moving the adjuster. I can tighten down the nut more and take it off again and no threads appear stripped, but the knob still isnt sitting tight against the adjuster and seems loose. I dont want to tighten any further to avoid stripping anything.

Any ideas?
