Fitted my carbon xo cranks a while back and all seemed good, done a few rides with them but happened to be looking down at my foot on the bike the other day and thought there was quite a gap between the crank arm ending and the edge of the bb.

Now there is no play and I tightened them tight (although suggested torque is +100nm!)

Does anyone have a picture of theirs fitted? No drive side, so I can see the gap between crank end and bb?

    Thanks.

Beginning to feel like it’s Groundhog Day, but anyway :- Sram/Truvativ/GXP axles have a step on their non-drive side, this butts up against the inside of the bearing, which is then clamped by the left crank. The axle then floats in the drive-side bearing, and has a gap between the bearing and crank, thus eliminating the possibilty of the cack-handed/ignorant pre-loading the bearings into an early death as is possible with Shimano types.
Or, if you don’t want to know the whys and hows, they’re all like that, it’s fine, just ride it 🙂
