Some lovely collies on here, all my photo's of our collie Nip are with the now ex-Mrs Rusty (as is the dog) it's amazing how much you can miss a creature of such limited intelligence >the dog is hopefully thinking<

Awesome boxer Bedds, if he's anything like my Maddy he'll love the trails. I only really take her to local routes like delamere purely because we go faster than her and constant and im pretty sure it'd keel her over! she'd need more breaks than us shes had a few health issues too so i cant risk her getting too tired out.

Haddock - that 2nd pic of your folks' dogs. The German Shepard-y type. He's the wisest looking dog I've ever seen!!
Posted 2 years ago # -
He's a real crazy horse! The Grey Lurchers the cunning one though. He was letting himself out of a closed pvc kitchen window for weeks, my mother thought she was going mad, he finally got caught out by getting tangled in the blind, on closer inspection we found little teeth marks on the handle!

Thanks Haddock.
Just had a long-ish ride in the Peaks with my boy today.

Sadly I don't reckon JD is gonna make it as a trail dog but here's a pic of the little fella anyway . . .
He was absolutely fine off the lead but getting to and from the local trails/park was a nightmare. Last time out he just bolted for home rather than have his lead back on (I was only on the BMX) so I've since decided that bikes and dogs don't mix (for us anyway). Fortunately the local woods are only a 10 min walk away . . . it's amazing the different stuff you spot on your usual riding route when just walking.

Just out of curiosity, do you find that you end up waiting for the dog, or the dog ends up waiting for you? Or are you evenly matched?
