Off to the Picos for a few days. Going to be based in Potes. Aanyone have any recommended rides, or is the area good enough to just point my bike up a track and explore randomly.

From Potes there are plenty of options for shorter rides if you like a bit of climbing!

Get the local 1:25 000 Picos de Europa – Macizos Central Y Oriental map (google it or go to the Stanfords website).

One option is up to Rases from Potes and follow any of the trails up from there and back down to make a circuit. Another option is to get the cable car from Fuente De and make an offroad circuit around to La Hermida then back to Potes along the road or along trails to the east of the road up to Potes. You can work some of that route out from the Spanish link above.

Plenty to pass a few days with there. Plenty of point yer bike and explore randomly stuff too. Have fun 🙂
