    hello all

Just wondering if any of the masses had any experiences or recommendations of Phyiso’s in and around Preston.

Broke my collarbone 5 weeks ago and i feel I’m now ready to start physio and begin the road to recovery.

not sure if there are any shoulder specialist physios round here but as bikes and broken collarbones seem common, I thought this would be a good place to ask.

    Cheers

I will ask a friend who works at RPH – they will know which physios are good in the area.

A question for you. What exactly do you think a physio would be able to do for a broken collar bone?

I’m in exactly the same boat – Dave we must have broken our collarbones in tandem :-)..and have been wondering the same, differnt location in the UK though

What exactly do you think a physio would be able to do for a broken collar bone?

My arms been in a sling for 5 weeks so I’m suffering some muscle wastage
Dave, I assume you’re the same – if not applogize for the highjack 😳

yep same really, had plenty of time to do internet research whilst getting trippy on painkillers. It seems by not doing anything this can lead to problems and restricted movement further down the line. I’m in no rush to get back on the bike, as they’re pretty easy to break again if rushed. I do want to ensure the recovery is the best it possibly can be so that it doesn’t give me any long term problems.

As the NHS dont seem to be to keen on sending me to see the physio for another month yet, thought i would shell out and get some physio sessions sorted.

Dave Gti – it is a worthwhile response if you answer the question. What do you think a physio will be able to do for you? I’m not surprised that they’re not keen on sending you for NHS physio at present because there really isnt much that any physio will be able to do for you. Muscle wastage will sort itself out once your sling is off and you start using your arm and range of movement will increase on the same basis.

broke mine a week ago and went to see a private physio today as the nhs were useless. i am already starting passive movements and i’m sure these will become more challenging as the bone nits.

ignore zulu, crack on with finding a good physio, it is worth its weight in gold.
