  • Photoshop help – tracing a border a round a logo.

I’ve got a logo, blocks and letters, some curves, and I want a border round the outside, that follows the outline, but a mm (or so) away from the outside edge.

I have a feeling that there might be an easy way to do this, but I’ve no idea what it is!

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Use the magic wand selector to select all the logo (or the background), if that doesn’t work then trace it by hand or with the magnetic select tool. Once you have the shape then select/modify/expand and change the size by a number of pixels.

Would you believe it? 2 seconds in google gave me the answer. As you were, sorry!

nick, That was my first idea, it doesn’t work unless it’s got rotational symmetry.

select, Edit> “add stroke” Not perfect, but it’s a good start.

Not sure if I understand your OP, but how about copy your logo mask and brush it in the outline colour you want then copy it to a new layer behind your original logo and free transform it so it slightly bigger.
