I wish I’d taken more care with the composition, but I was pleased with the concept at least:

Okay, so this was taken last year but I’ve only just downloaded it. Not the best pic but I love the natural light.

    Cavedale.
If you were mincing/walking down Cavedale on Saturday Aft, the bikers could be you!

Little bit of annoying flare around the woods at the top. I’ll have to remember my lens hood next time.

I went on a ride on saturday and I take quite a few photos just with my camera phone (its a Sony Xperia Z), it takes some damn good photos, I can’t get enough of these two, keep looking back at them. Mainly because there is just so much going on in the second one, with the snow, the city, the mountains, the clouds, the light, I took a series of photos and then stitched them together in Photoshop when I got home.

Its worth looking at that second one in… Full Size

Am Fasarinen, Liathach, Torridon – taken on a Nexus 4

Ben Eighe ridge, Torridon – stitched from three shots taken on a Lumix FX40

Not particularly good photos, but I am quite proud of them.

Not this month but this is that tiny yellow fungus you see on tree branches. Taken on a wee compact camera – impressed by the macro mode! There’s an insect bottom left which was completely invisible to the naked eye. Must have been 1/8th the size of a full stop.

I havn’t touched my camera in months but I was in town the other day and saw a Nikon 80-200 f2.8 in a second hand shop as a “spares or repair” item. According to the shop staff the focus element “doesnt work”. I made an offer and they accepted. The next day I stuck it on my D300 and took this photo of the cat.

The lens focuses fine, its rough in its operation so I will be sending it away to be repaired but to get this result from a “broken” lens for £100 is not bad IMO

Not a really sharp photo, but I love the way it illustrates the excitement of the last downhill of the day.
