    ****** up

Been going through some old pics and found this beauty. Foot popped out of the cleat while cranking in (more speed = less death technique)

So turning over a new leaf in the new year lets all laugh at ourselves.

Lol, I survived the second one with two rolls and no swim…
Second pic is one of my old apprentices, first or second time on a river iirc.

This is me completely stuck halfway through a rock feature with a decent size drop off to the right- the Steps Of Doom. Had my left hand and foot wedged against the rock face and every time I moved it felt like I was going to die 😆 I think Iona thought she was going to have to hire a crane

pffft, you people know nothing about fail:

    PURPLE bar ends – check

SCARY FAST ROCKET POWER GLOVES ! – check

(might even be a psycho tyre)- check

“I know, I’ll just go left off that drop, straight across the off-camber landing to where my mate is with the camera”

(It’s lucky there’s a bike frame in the way – I suspect there’s a bit of an Alan Partridge moment going on with the shorts 😯

Those pictures show perfectly why “getting your ass off the back” is not the way to do drops!

This is also not me, bailing out, halfway across a river on Exmoor!

Amazingly, he made it with dry feet. Right up to the moment he had to wade back out into the river to rescue his submerged bike…… 😉

P20 – is your first pic below skiddaw house? I snapped my beloved Orange Clockwork there decades ago.
