I am looking at the SRAM PG1130 cassette online and they say compatible with X1 which my bike has (XD freehub) however the PG1130 is like a ‘normal’ cassette/shimano fitment. Do they still work together and if so how?

    Thanks

Pretty sure you just just attach it in the normal way, with a chain whip and cassette tool – but get a proper one (park tools shimano one is good) – with long enough splines on it… those ones you get in cheap bike tool kits are shite as they don’t go in far enough and you’ll snap the plastic bits off the driver.

Use grease on the driver body, cos you don’t want that thing seizing on. Think someone suggested lithium grease to me.

It’s compatible with X1 mechs/shifters, but NOT XD freehub. afaik.

PG1150 is probably what you want.

    You’re right (Alex)
Compatible with non XD™ driver body

1150 is definitely what you want.

Although – I decided to go for the XG-1175 as it’s 70g lighter and still reasonably priced.
