Is the way that the colour has been used on this (not the gold bits) be reproducible in a tattoo?

If it’s likely to end up with just solid colours it won’t be right, I’d want the sort of ‘wash’ effect where the colours merge and change.

(bit of background, my daughter did it as a Father’s Day card and I’ve been thinking about getting a tattoo but never really found something I connected with emotionally enough to wear for ever – this seems to fit the bill).

Would be looking to have it wrapped around my calf, if that makes any difference.

[waits for pictures of tatooine out of Star Wars and an argument about whether tattoos are a good thing]

it can certainly be done, but you might want to hunt around a bit for the right artist.

FYI – a consultant vascular surgeon pal told me recently that Red tattoos are v easy to remove by laser. Green almost impossible. Indian ink prison tats are pretty easy too. Handy to know 🙂

Beaten to it by Tazzy . Plenty of very good tattooists around – be prepared to pay and wait for the right one .

re: the gold bits – leave it as my pastey skin tone or go for some solid colour that’s close?

Why not ask your daughter, it is her design?

Different colours need lasers operating on different wavelengths for best effect. AFAIK red & green are both removable. I’d imagine all these lasers are expensive though so maybe most clinics just have a “generic” laser which is good for black/blue/red. Love watching the tattoo removal progs on telly. Yes, I am a bastard.

There’s a guy in Worthing called Jason Adelinia, specialises in watercolour type tattoos. I don’t have any tattoos but I follow him on facebook, I think his stuff is awesome.

Google image search will pull up his stuff. Be careful though, one of the less moral parlours was putting out copies of his work to the uninitiated!

What about that van on the A259 just next to the Shoreham Airport roundabout?
The one with all the rust and stuff…
Surely there’s a mobile number on that – they’ll pop round and do it for you in a jiffy.
    Looks lejit too.

Saw your reference and thought Ondrash, whoever is doing it I think you’d need to give them some artistic license or it might look a bit naff.
