    Heading down tomorrow… Fany the Wall and penhydd if it’s open again?

    No it’s still closed.
    The wall is all open. The last 2 sections of whites were closed when I last went there 2 weeks ago.
    Bring some midge repellent.

    That funny looking footpath/beginners trail is open… Penhydd still shut.
    Whites is still closed near the end (Goodward onwards)…but they divert you back up the fireroad (past where the blackrun emerges) and take you to the top of Skyline decent….can’t grumble with that. Its the better finish…

    According to the leaflet from the Forestry through the door this week:
    Work on a brand new Penhydd beginning soon, along with a new loop added to the Wall near the 4X track plus a new final descent for Whites Level.

    All supposedly finished by the end of 2012. Although they are also still felling trees like crazy, so don’t hold yer breath.

    My understanding is that the soon to be developed “Penhydd” will be a different trail to the old one. I think they’re aiming for a blue or green designation rather than the old red.
