Sorry if this seems like a bit of a numpty q….

I use crank bros egg beaters on my mtb & I use DMR V8’s on the mtb I use to get around on (ie town bike, rigid & slicks)

I was thinking of using my townie bike for a bit of road training over winter, so was wandering if Crank Bros Mallets would work ok for using with my mtb shoes for training and with trainers/skate shoes just for getting about?

Does the mechanism stand proud of the platform? if so is it an annoyance when riding with trainers on?
