Heard Rush up edge is now as smooth as a baby’s bottom, so what are the other places that have been ruined, other than Shatton and Chapel gate, which I needn’t bother to visit just now then?

You could say that they are in as natural a state as they have ever been, they’ve just been tidied up a bit.

At some point in the past Jacob’s ladder was sanitized, but decades of weathering / erosion has made it the way it currently is.

Jacob’s Ladder is on the list for ‘future improvements’, according to a horsey friend that I know (as in she rides horses around the Peak District, not that I’m friends with a horse). Think there’s a list online somewhere of the work carried out and the work planned.

Edit: It’s on here somewhere – on the plus side, they’re also getting some footpaths converted to bridleways http://www.peakhorsepower.co.uk
