    Hi Guys

Am organising a group to go over for the PPDS in June. Will probably ride the route on the first day – the Friday – in the hope of smaller queues etc.

Anyone done it before? What town is the best base location for a combination of decent riding locally (for the other days), nightlife and resonable accomodation?

    Any comments welcomed.

Friday is a good day to do it. There are lots of threads on the topic.

    You have two options:

Mozine / Les Gets – busier, more bars and accommodation, lots of lifts. But harder to get an entry as these are the most popular places. They both were fully booked 20 mins after entrys went online.

Other locations – smaller, but dont get booked up so fast. Still great lifts and good places to stay.

TBH – any of them are great – your in the Alps, you have access to lifts. We stayed in Les Gets and rode in lots of other valleys each day – all connected by lifts. Unless your there just for night life I would not worry where to stay. If you really want night life pick either Morzine or Les Gets – but dont expect too much. Both were pretty quite in the evenings during the PPdS event.

    chatel.

then you’re well placed for (imho) the best choice/mix of riding for the rest of your stay.

les gets is alright, but it’s a bugger if you want to get to champery/morgins.

you will want to ride at morgins/champery.
