Oh dear what have I started? I’ve asked him if the lacing is compatible with an existentialist belief system.

Don’t know were he gets his pricing from on the build either as!

    Rrp £450 a pair
    Rims £62 each
    Spokes £2.45 each
Labour £50 (but he built them himself so how does he charge!!!!!!)
Red sapim nips 64 of are £12
    Postage insured £18

    Total £810

And I build them for less than that £745 a pair posted with a full warranty with the lacing of your choice

So we’re he got the £950 from is beyond me

bencooper – I think it’s a special anti-torque design feature, pedal too hard and the hub fractures in the middle, protecting you from potentially straining a calf muscle.

Or an ingenious energy return system whereby the spokes on the drive side flex massively under drive & return the energy on the dead-point of the pedal stroke – it’s hixtie genius!

Don’t think the ad is that bad myself, but he is a bit of a nob for building ‘950quid’ wheels for a 5min commute. You can walk that in 15-20 ffs!
What a vulgar show of hipster wealth

So he’s laced them radial on the drive side and 2X on the NDS. I suspect his “belief system” might be that having f***ed up the build he then had a massive sulk and was simply too stubborn to unlace and re-do it properly.

In wheelbuilding terms he’s the scum of the earth!

I think he’s starting to get a bit tetchy. All I did was ask if he had a buy it now price.

Is reading not your strong point?
I wrote: “…do not ask me for a “buy it now” price, if I’d wanted that, I’d have checked that box when listing these for auction. Similarly, please do not ask me to buy these wheels outside of eBay, my answer may offend.”

If you change your mind, please feel free to take your best “buy it now” price and place it into the “Bid Now” box.

This is normally the point he turns out to be a regular poster here and arrives to start an magnificently entertaining thread.

A: Nope. That phone has a smashed screen, it got broken whilst doing your mum.

    Who sent that?

Well that should kill the listing. Bet the top bidder is thinking ‘please some other fool bid’ if he’s read this.

….’cept that would smash your belief system.
Clearly these wheels have been lovingly curated by an artisan.
