Blimey there’s some good stats on there. Few KOM’s and near KOM’s too 😉

Averaging near 25mph over 6.5 hours and burning 8000+ calories.

Bloody hell. Really puts the gulf between normal-person-fit and pro-rider-fit into perspective. Amazing.

the power output is simply frightening. Will that be Strava’s own random way of calculating it, or something more scientific (ie can you upload from a power meter)

Normally there is a little lightning graphic to indicate a power meter was used, however none is showing.

The 20 minute peak is an absolute mind blowing 560 watts, or 7W/kg!

Trouble is that’ll be based on speed – seeing as he had bunch shelter the whole time it’s going to be very inflated. Still, mental!

Here’s some actual SRM power data for Cancellara:
    http://adrianfitch.wordpress.com/2010/12/05/fabian-cancellaras-2010-tour-of-flanders-srm-power-data/

285W average which is enormous, considering he’ll have spent a fair amount of time drafting.

    However… http://www.reddit.com/r/peloton/comments/182vl1/hamilton_sort_of_implicates_cancellara_as_client/

Presumably that’s normalised power, but even so, the man’s a fooking animal!

I suspect it really is average power not Normalised. From my own Cat 4 Hell yesterday:

    Average power 238 watts
    Max power 880 watts
Average heart rate 167 bpm (90% of max)
    Max heart rate 182 bpm
Average cadence 97 rpm (he’s a bit of a masher by comparason)
    Max cadence 192 rpm
Average speed 37.8 kph (no cobbles – well none on the course)
Total time 1 hrs 15 min
    Total energy 1,070 kJ

The biggest difference, apart from the fact that he raced for four times as long is that Spartacus can put out more power at a lower % max HR. He’s a bit younger than me, mind. And 12 kilos heavier 😉

I’m a ‘normal’ person – I cycled the Paris-Roubaix challenge on Saturday, see here for a comparision.

    Max cadence 192 rpm

Wowzers. I’m not even sure I could get my legs to spin that fast.
