Sounds like the Mongol rally

My mate Fluffy did the Mongol Rally in a £250 Micra, they took 5 weeks and got to within 300 miles of Ulan Bator before they snapped the front suspension. An amazing adventure that took them through Iran etc.

Funniest tale was of having a proper Turkish bath in Istanbul, or as he described it “paying a a fat hairy bastard to beat the crap out of me”

There are things like the ramshackle rally, all sorts. Sub Saharan Africa in today’s climate, no thanks. There is a reason the Dakar went to South America.
