I’ve got a pannier rack on my CX bike. It’s a Kinesis 3T and I think the rear hub is 125mm – it’s certainly smaller than the standard 135mm MTB rearwheel

I’ve been planning to use the rack on my tandem when we go cycle touring in a couple of months, but it’s occurred to me that the tandem has a 145mm rearhub, and has disk brakes mounted

the rack is a Topeak Super Tourist DX Pannier Rack – not the disc version that’s also available

Will I die? Or more pertinently, will I struggle to mount the rack put the panniers on the rack once it’s mounted?

    itll be fine ….

    cross bikes likely 130mm

the rack can be sprung to fit wider – i have a 135 mtb rack fited on my 165mm fat bike frame no bother
