Paddington has an interesting sub-text about refugee children and how we treat immigrants in the UK. And also marmalade.

Penguins of Madagascar features amusing Spheniscidae.

    Hope that helps.

Not seen Penguins, but enjoyed Paddington more than I thought I would.

Didn’t think I’d enjoy Paddington but it really was excellent.

I really enjoyed Paddington, works for kids and adults (although our neighbours 4 year old daughter found some bits at the museum scary)

My kids have seen both (I took them to Penguins, wife took them to Paddington)

From the feedback I’ve had I think they would recommend Paddington.

    Look out for the earbrushes!

    I’ve seen both.

Really enjoyed Paddington while Penguins was a bit meh (really enjoyed the Madagascar movies).

Toppers jnr (aged 5) and I really enjoyed both. We both preferred Paddington.

Great thread, as we bought Paddington on our lads recommendation this morning. Looking forward to watching this heart warming tale of an illegal immigrant and his struggles to integrate into British society.

    !! PADDINGTON !!

Straight into my one number top film ever….

It knocked Love Actually into second…

With Apocalyspe Now (and my manhood…. 🙂 ) clinging onto third place

Must be pronounced Pad-ding-TONNNN or you get in trouble round here.

Would you all still say that if we have one super sensitive to scary things and another super sensitive to ‘cringe worthy’ or embarrassing things?

My four year old finds moments of “drama” scary (i.e. “Oh he might fall / get caught / get into trouble / run out of marmalade”

She made it through Paddington in the cinema but did require a few reassuring words at points.
