Depends on where you are, how much stuff you have and how far they have to move it. Also are you boxing it up or expecting them to? My crystal ball suggests anything from £400 to £4000.

When my parents moved from Surrey to Devon it was a lot cheaper to get movers from the Devon end.

Ages ago now so cost will have changed, but definitely worth it – much easier (obviously) and lots of house contents insurance policies don’t cover your stuff once it’s left your old house and before it gets to the new. Our movers insurance covered everything.

Just imagine how out of pocket you might be if all your stuff goes up in smoke in transit!
