I thought I had a dodgy switch on my DX torch. It turned out that the control unit, just behind the LED unit was loose and was making the light change modes every time I shook it.

You have to unscrew the body to find it though.

not sure of the size but it could be something like this

either way they may have the right size if you measure it up when you take it out

Fixing a faulty tail switch – might be of no use, but it’s worth a quick glance (I know of over 10 DX P7 Torches, not one has failed & there over 2 years old).

If it is broken, you can have mine for the cost of postage. Mine is the same torch IIRC, only 5 mode not 2 mode, mine fell off the bars one day and smashed the lens/bezel. I was going to fix it up but got a bastid instead.
