Hi, anyone know of any spots to park a car overnight in or close to Ambleside for a backpacking trip. route already plotted so must start close by! cheers

Park in the car park by the entrance to the park at the end of the road to the left of the chippy by the old bike treks shop (think it’s either a scool or church car park, can’t remember). Safe, free parking, may be an honesty box to drop a few £ in iirc.

thanks MMTM- know where ya mean – the old bike treks is an old fashioned sweet shop now i think! have you used it recently? also do you know if the public road on the other side of the park that runs along side the river (bridge there that leads to a path through the park) is an unresrticted road? cheers again 🙂
