From Middle English perfit, from Old French parfit (modern: parfait), from Latin perfectus, perfect passive participle of perficere (“to finish”), from per- (“through, thorough”) + facere (“to do, to make”). Spelling modified 15c. to conform Latin etymology

What you’re probably hearing is the mispronunciation of perfick.

As in, “sometimes there is only one way to describe it……”

Honestly, can’t say that I’ve noticed.
Maybe I’m just not paying attention to the right sort of inane social networks or something.

    “queen elizabeth”
    “awesome”

er….. its not really awesome is it :-/

It’s Hero for me . running for less than 10 seconds or kicking a ball into a net does not make you a hero , possibly an inspiration but not a hero .

From my perspective they could abuse “perfect” and “awesome” all they liked if only they would give up starting their sentences with “So…”

We’ve done this sort of thing before though and I’m not sure it has made a significant impact on the proles. To really make a difference it needs to be integrated into that infernal Daily Mail side column (next to the breaking news about Posh’s cellulite).

A word flung around by middle aged middle class women with posh southern accents on Radio 2 all the time which 99% of the time brings nothing to what they are trying to say, and actually most of the time they are trying to disagree with what the other person is saying.

    “Absolutely, Jeremy, absolutely, yeah”.

    Burn in hell.
