Do you reckon they will ever make these illegal for racing? Seems to be everyone is using them for 1 X, they make such a difference to climbing and grip etc, will they they outlaw them as unfair?
Road market seems slower to catch on, but could ban them i guess?

No, most if not all of the pro road riders are already using them. They are a standard part that any body and easily afford.

Oval rings…old school! My Diamond Back Accent Ex had them, in 1988.

    We called it Biopace then.

my luddite alarm has gone off, it’s changed since then, hence not being called biopace anymore 🙄

Just switched to running one. I haven’t noticed a difference, which I take to be a good thing.

Don’t confuse modern oval chanrings with biopace…, there is a fundamental difference. If you are sceptical, try absoluteBLACK’s 30 day trial…

I doubt they’ll makr them illegal, they certainly do offer a smoother stroke once you recalibrate your legs.

Bought one to try out. Will post back once delivered and a few rides old.

I’m most interested in the effect this will have on my iffy knee.

I don’t seem to be able to tell the difference either. I’m sure they are good if pros use them but I could easily reach an Emperor’s new clothes conclusion…
