A few weeks ago, my Meta was creaking and pinging away, and a quick inspection revealed, as others have that cracks had started intruding into the shock mount welds 🙁
Anywhoo, a quick email/ pics bounced back and forth to madison, and 2 weeks later, my Shiny 2010 frame arrived, complete with Thompson seatpost and Maxle! New frame has a tidier downtube and larger Seattube. Shock linkage is different colour with new style screws and bottom shock mount is different. Top mount's welds go round the back too. Swingarm is different, too (at the dropouts)
Also treated it to a Deore Crankset (cheap and cheerful but still better than the Truvative/ GXP thing ) and a charge spoon. (My SDG was split and the thompson isnt an i beam anyway.
Havnt ridden yet, but it doesnt creak, clack and ping!
