I currently have a SRAM Rival compact on my roadie and it has come time to replace the chainrings. However, I have always had a hankering for a Ultegra chainset (the newish ones that look a bike Dura-Ace-esque).

Firstly, can I continue to use the SRAM BB, or do I need to get a Shimano one.

Secondly, are Ultegra chainsets worth the money? They look pretty nice, but I’m not sure forking out £165 for something that “looks nice” is particularly worth it.
