    And the use of hot water, cooking oil and lots and lots of swearing to unstick one’s finger from one’s thumb.

    For stupid people obviously…not me!

    Acetone is very good for dissolving superglue. You need proper salon strength acetone, not the watered down stuff from the chemists for removing nail polish. I got a blob of superglue onto a pair of Howies jeans, tried everything to get rid of it, with no success, then bought a bottle of proper acetone after I spilt an entire 10cc bottle of superglue onto a really nice pocket knife, the acetone completely dissolved all the glue on the knife, and the glue on the jeans with no sign it had ever been there. Useful stuff to keep around the house.
    Hot soapy water, and the blunt end of a teaspoon to work between the fingers is the usual procedure.
