Hitting the cold time of year again! Through my work I have the opportunity to supply full lorry loads (usually ca.25 tonnes per load) of good grade hardwood firewood in 3m lengths. Species are ash/sycamore/birch/beech/oak etc.
Delivery can be arranged (via artic lorry) to the Scottish Borders / Lanarkshire / Lothians regions. Anywhere else can be arranged thoough extra haulage costs would need to be paid for.
The price would be £40/t delivered, therefore a 25 tonne load would be ca. £1000. Still far cheaper than coal / oil / gas etc.
Please note that 25 tonnes of hardwood is ALOT of firewood so access for lorries and suitable stacking room is fundamental.
The timber is fresh felled therefore, ideally, it should be cut and split and stored undercover for 12 months. Though sycamore / ash / birch can be burnt green, especially in wood burning stoves.
