Is Snow Leopard available as a download these days? A google just gave me loads of dodgy ways of doing it (which I’d be too worried to do).

Nope. You will have to buy the discs. Might be worth waiting to see if the physical release negates this requirement. I assume it will, as SL is only needed as it comes with App Store which you need to download Lion.

My understanding is there will be a USB stick preloaded available in August. US pricing puts it at $70.

seen the bit about a USB stick, which as Airs and now mini’s don’t have optical drives makes some sense

After playing round with the gestures, defo glad I went with the magic trackpad, instead of the mouse.
